Where Do You Find Your Ideas? and other stories is a collection of Martin's stories introduced by Reginald Hill, creator of Dalziel and Pascoe. Each story is prefaced by an account of where the inspiration for the mystery came from.

'The Bookbinder's Apprentice' has been included in the US collection Best Mysteries for 2008, edited by Ed Gorman and Martin Greenberg.
